Description

The Cuss monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 18 meters north of the north-west corner of the Church of St. Sampson. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a moulded base, sides with end pilasters and a frieze, and a hipped table. Inscriptions are present on fielded panels, commemorating Nevill Cuss, who died in 1834, along with family members up to 1962. The railings that once surrounded the monument have been removed.
