Description
No 45 in Compton Bassett is a 17th-century house constructed of whitewashed chalk rubble, topped with a thatched half-hipped roof and featuring an east stack. The building has one and a half storeys and is double-fronted, showcasing leaded casements. The front includes two triple casements under eyebrows, a four-light casement on the ground floor to the left, a triple casement to the right, and a central door that is sheltered by an added thatched porch. There is an attic window at the west end.
To the rear, there is a north-west wing with a ridge stack, which has two four-light casements under eyebrows on the west side and a ground floor timber-mullioned five-light window. A door is located in the north gable end of the wing. The east side of the wing features two eyebrows, a four-light timber-mullion window to the left, a triple casement to the right, two pairs of casements below, and a door to the left. The rear of the main range has a pair of casements on each floor to the left.
