Description

The Old Rectory is a former rectory built around 1840, featuring rendered walls with ashlar dressings and imitation stone slate roofs. It has various diagonally shafted stacks and is designed in a Tudor style, comprising two storeys and an attic with an irregular plan. The building showcases coped gables and parapets.

On the south front, there is an advanced two-window section to the left, which includes ground floor two-light and three-light mullion-and-transom windows with hoodmoulds. The first floor has a two-light window to the left and a three-light window with a hoodmould to the right, along with a sill course. The left side has a parapet, while the right side features a gable with an attic single light. The west end gable boasts a large first floor oriel window, paired with the gable-end of the rear range.

The right side of the south front has a four-window range of two-light windows, with mullion-and-transom windows below. The left two bays are set within a Tudor-arched two-bay loggia, with a door located in the left bay. The upper windows have a sill course, and above the third window, there is a low gable above the parapet that features a shield with a carved crozier. The east end stack has a Gothic panelled corbelled base. The irregular north front includes a projecting gable to the left, a large projecting centre gable, and a range to the right that runs parallel to the front range.
