Description
No. 103 High Street is a house located at the end of a row in Codford St Peter, dating from around 1700. It features painted English bond brickwork on a rubble stone plinth and has a hipped tiled roof with brick stacks on the rear pitch. The building is two stories high with four windows. The entrance door, positioned to the right of center, has six fielded panels and is framed by a reeded architrave. To the right of the door is a 2-light casement window, while to the left are two 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements. On the first floor, there are four 2-light mullioned casements. A blocked mullioned window is present in the cellar to the left of the doorway, and the right return is made of rubble stone and is blind. The rear of the house features a gabled 19th-century porch with a half-glazed door, along with 2-light mullioned casements and several blocked openings. There is a 20th-century porch to the left with a 4-panelled door. Although the interior was not accessible during the survey in March 1987, it is reported to contain chamfered beams and original doors. Attached to the left side of the front is a single-storey late 19th-century addition that has a large 12-pane shop window and doorway, topped with a thatched roof.
