Description

Stonehaven is a house with origins in the early 18th century, significantly altered and refenestrated in the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a stone-tiled roof and ashlar stacks positioned along the ridge and at the west end. Initially comprising two buildings, the right-hand range is the older of the two, as evidenced by the large quoin blocks marking the central straight joint between the ranges. The facade now presents a three-window arrangement, featuring upper 12-pane sash windows in plain, flush surrounds, and ground-floor tripartite glazing bar sashes which bracket a six-panel door set within a stone surround with a decorative hood supported by brackets. The window bays are unevenly spaced. Render, applied in the 19th century, has been removed.
