Description
Chandlers is a house dating from around 1700, constructed of rubble stone with tiled roofs. It features a rear chimney gable and is two storeys high with an attic, presenting a five-window range. There are two 20th-century hipped dormers on the roof. Above the ground floor, there are five bead-moulded, two-light flush mullion windows, while below, there are four similar windows along with a central six-panel door set in a bead-moulded flush surround. A continuous drip course runs over the ground floor. On the left side at landing level, there is a single-light stairlight, and to the right side, a cellar window with a curved head. The rear of the house has a projecting chimney gable with hipped dormers on each side and a double Roman tiled, two-storey lean-to addition. There is also a further gabled outbuilding extending eastward. Attached to the south of the house is a range that now serves as a showroom, which has dormer gables at the front and rear, two bead-moulded, two-light windows, and a door featuring a 15th-century carved doorcase and an oak plank door. At the south end, there is a small range from the 20th century with a door set between mullion and transom windows that have hoodmoulds. The building features leaded lights throughout.
