Description
The stables and carriage house at Little Durnford Manor were built in 1737 for Edward Younge and were raised in height in the late 19th century. The structure features a mix of flint and stone chequerwork with brick details and has a tiled roof. It has an asymmetrical design, with a taller central section that includes two carriage doors with rounded heads and a blind opening for a loft above. A simple brick pediment is topped with a corniced lozenge-shaped clock. At the rear, there is a storeroom. The stone arms of Younge and Baynard, dating from 1660 to 1708, have been reset between the doors. To the right, there is a brick-paved stable and tack room, while to the left, a longer wing now serves as a garage with a loft above.
