Description

Well Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with a gable end facing the road, situated in Ogbourne St Andrew, Ogbourne Maisey. The cottage is constructed of timber framing, colourwashed stone, brick dressings, and has a thatched roof. It is a single-storey building with an attic, comprising two bays. The interior follows a lobby entry plan, featuring a main living room and a later, narrower service room beyond a stack at the road end. The timber framing is arranged in two panels high, with curved corner braces. The windows are casements with paned glass and there is one flush dormer at the front. The thatch is half-hipped and sweeps down over an outbuilding at the west end.
