Description
The walls and railings with gates on the north and west sides of the churchyard of the Church of St. Leonard were built around 1870. They feature English bond brick dwarf walls topped with limestone pitched coping and decorative cast-iron railings. There are double cast-iron gates at the northwest corner, flanked by octagonal limestone piers that have broach stops on square plinths and an arcaded frieze leading to conical cappings. Additionally, there is a single cast-iron gate at the east end of the north wall. This is a well-preserved example of churchyard railings, likely funded by the Marchioness of Westminster of Fonthill.
