Description
The Benett Arms is a 17th-century inn that was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed from painted dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with gable end brick stacks. The building has a T-plan layout and is two storeys high with an attic, containing three windows. The central entrance has a 20th-century porch and door, flanked by two-light casements with round-arched lights and hoodmoulds. On the first floor, there are three 2-light leaded casements with similar round-arched lights and hoodmoulds. A central half dormer features a single arched casement, and the roof has deep eaves. To the left, there is a single-storey extension with a 2-light round-arched casement, while to the right, there is a 20th-century single-storey extension. At the rear, a two-storey wing has casements. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a timber lintel set on brick jambs.
