Description
Corner Cottage is a house that was formerly part of The Grange, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and features a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and five bays. The entrance has been altered and is now located in the second bay under a pent roof, with a panelled early 20th-century door. The windows are 19th-century paned casements with segmental brick arches. The left bay has been rebuilt or refaced in the late 18th to early 19th century, featuring brick lacings. There is a stack located between the third and later fourth bay, along with additional stacks at the gables. A lean-to is attached to the front of the fifth bay. The building is connected to a rear block, now known as The Grange, which dates from the 19th century and has a slate roof with a central arched dormer, although this part is not of special interest. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams with ogee stops. The roof of the original three-bay construction includes collars and clasped purlins.
