Description
The Old Vicarage is a house dating from the 15th and 17th centuries. It is timber framed with colourwashed infilling and has a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and features a lobby entry plan with two bays, with the entrance located opposite the stack. The heavy framing consists of two panels high, with some tension braces present in the third bay. The exterior includes a part-glazed door and 20th-century leaded casements, along with a 17th-century brick stack.
On the left side, there is a later single bay two-storey rear extension, which has a 20th-century lean-to extension added to the kitchen. Inside, there is a large inserted stack in the original hall, which is now a living room in the left two bays. This area features a timber fire lintel and scooped chamfer stops to the spine beam, along with some 17th-century panelling. The joists are chamfered and exposed. The fireplace in the parlour located in the north bay has been blocked. The first floor has jowled posts with corner braces, and above the centre of the hall is a 15th-century arch braced collar beam truss with two tiers of purlins and windbraces.
