Description
There are four chest tombs located in the churchyard, between 2.5 and 5 metres east of the Church of St Leonard. These tombs date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The pair of tombs to the west features one or two oval panels, scrolled carved decoration, fielded pilasters, plain friezes, and flat tops. The northern tomb of this pair is badly sunk as of the survey in December 1986. To the northeast, there are two more tombs; the southern one has beaded or fielded panels, while the northern one has fielded panels and pilasters with scrolled decoration. The inscriptions on the two western tombs are illegible, and the northeastern pair belongs to the Burridge family.
