Description
Quemerford House is a house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone with limestone ashlar dressings, ashlar gable stacks and a slate double-pile roof. The house has a double-depth plan. The two-storey facade has three windows and features a cornice and blocking course, as well as coped gables. A round-arched doorway is flanked by an architrave and a five-pane fanlight above a six-panel door, with a round-arched window above containing a three-by-six-pane sash. Full-height canted bays extend up through the cornice, each featuring six-by-six-pane sashes. A single-storey extension is located to the left. Gabled dormers with casements have been added in the 20th century.
The interior includes a flagged through-passage divided by a segmental arch on fluted pilasters, a dogleg staircase with stick balusters, and shutters. A rear right-hand doorway features a blocked fanlight and a panelled door.
