Description

Turnpike Cottage is an early 19th-century building constructed from ashlar and coursed rubble stone, featuring an imitation slate roof and an ashlar stack on the west side. The cottage is two storeys high and has a three-sided canted bay made of ashlar, with a hipped roof facing Bristol Road. The bay has a blank centre wall and one range of small-paned casements on each side. The west and east walls are made of rubble stone, with the east wall showcasing a projecting ashlar gabled porch that has a slate roof, bargeboards, and pendant finials. At the rear, there is a wing with flush quoins and a stack at the north end, which includes one range of small-paned casements on the east side.
