Six Monuments In The Churchyard Between 6 And 10 Metres West Of The Chapman Cross

EDINGTON EDINGTON VILLAGE ST 95 SW (north side) 5/151 Six monuments in the churchyard between 6 and 10m west of the Chapman cross GV II Scattered group of six chest tombs. C18 to early C19. Limestone. South of group is early C19 with two octagonal fielded panels, pilasters with rosettes and shield-shaped end panels. Low tomb to north has two oval fielded panels and pilasters; both of these have illegible inscriptions. Three late C18 Brown tombs to north; south one with plain panels and bas-relief carved urn, fluted pilasters and frieze to weathered top, middle one to Thomas Brown died 1795 has oval fielded panel, high-relief carved flanking urns and quarter balusters, north one is early C19 with one egg and dart moulded panel, carved drapery and fluted pilasters and frieze, weathered top. West tomb to members of Harris family with octagonal centre panel with flanking fielded pilasters and scrolled ornament.
