Description
Whites Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse, now a detached house, with origins dating back to the late 16th century and a late 17th century wing. The building features square-panelled timber-framing, a hipped thatched roof, and brick stacks. It is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys with four windows. The entrance, located at the rear of the hall stack, includes a 19th-century six-panelled door with a flat wooden hood supported by brackets to the left of centre. To the left of the door is a 3-light casement, while the right side has two 2-light casements and a 3-light casement. The first floor contains four 2-light casements. The left return features 20th-century steel casements and a rubble stone ground floor. There is a 20th-century addition attached to the right return, which is not of special interest. Inside, the farmhouse has moulded cross beams in the hall to the north, an open fireplace with a reset moulded stone surround, and winding stairs to the first floor against the west side of the hall stack, along with planked doors.
