Description
No. 5 Inmead is a detached cottage dating from 1700, as indicated by the datestone above the door, which features the initials IT and IB. The cottage is constructed of painted Flemish bond brick and has a tiled roof with ceramic ridge cresting and a brick stack on the left side.
The building is two storeys high and has two windows on the front facade. There is a 20th-century door to the left, which is sheltered by a gabled porch. To the right of the door, there are three two-light casement windows, one of which is located in a blocked doorway. On the first floor, there are two two-light casements and a Sun Insurance disc. The right return wall shows some rubble stone and has a two-light casement window. The left return features a lean-to extension, while the rear has a 20th-century two-storey extension on the left side. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in July 1986.
