Description
The Elms is a detached house built in the mid-18th century, with a late 19th-century addition. The front is made of limestone ashlar, while the rest of the building features dressed limestone, topped with a tiled roof and brick stacks. The house is two stories high and has four windows. On the ground floor, there is a four-panelled door set in a Gibbs surround to the left, and to the right, there are two 4-pane sash windows with moulded architraves and keystones. The first floor has three 4-pane sash windows, also with moulded architraves and keystones, along with chamfered rusticated quoins and a modillioned stone eaves cornice, and coped verges. The late 19th-century cross range to the left features a 4-pane sash window on both the ground and first floors, with barge boards that have a cusped apex. The right return includes 4-pane sashes and a cornice at the attic level, which has a round-arched casement in an architrave with a key and imposts. The parallel rear range has 4-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
