Description

The Ford monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 5 meters south of the Neat monument and southeast of the chancel of the Church of St. Thomas. This monument dates from the later 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features two octagonal plaques on the north side and two shield plaques on the south side, with fluted piers positioned between the plaques and at the corners. The tomb is topped with a moulded cornice that includes a pulvinated frieze. An inscription dedicated to Deborah Ford can be found on the north side.
