Description
The Oriel/Ford monument is a chest tomb located about 3 meters south of the organ chamber of the Church of St. Thomas. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of ashlar stone. The tomb features two rectangular panels on each side and one on each end. It has a moulded base and cornice, along with a pulvinated frieze. The north side of the monument includes an inscription dedicated to J. Oriel, who died in 1756, as well as members of the Ford family, with dates going back to 1695.
