Description

Ball House is an early 19th-century house, originally with a veterinary surgery. It is constructed of diaper brickwork, topped with a slate roof. The main block is two storeys high and comprises three bays, with a rear range and a 20th-century single-storey extension to the right, serving as a veterinary surgery. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with bead mouldings, set within an inset reeded frame, above which is a decorative fanlight and a reeded canopy supported by console brackets. Later 19th-century canted bay windows with 12 panes are present on the ground floor, while the first floor retains original 16-pane sash windows. Gable stacks are visible. The side elevation is pebbledashed and features 20th-century leaded windows on the rear first floor.
