Description
Little Thatch, also known as Somerset House, is a house and cottage located on Pewsey Ball Road, dating from the 17th century. The building features a timber frame on brick sill walls with rendered panels and a thatched roof. Originally a single storey with an attic, it has been raised to two storeys. Somerset House consists of three bays, with a six-panelled and fielded door in the left bay, which is sheltered by a thatched porch. The right bay has been rebuilt in brick and displays false timbering on the front elevation. No 24, or Little Thatch, is a one-bay structure with a combination of brick and timber framing, also single storey with an attic, and was formerly an extension of No 22. It features 20th-century casement windows. The roof has heavy purlins and stacks located between the second and third bays, as well as on the right side of No 24.
