Description
West Haven is a house dating from the mid 18th century, constructed of diaper brick with stone dressings and a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. It features a central entrance leading to a through hall, with an early 20th century half-glazed door set within a stone doorcase that has a moulded arris and a flat stone hood supported by iron brackets. The windows are leaded 2-light casements, also framed in stone with moulded surrounds and mullions, topped with gauged brick arches that have raised brick keys. There is a two-course plat band, with one course made of blue brick, and the wall below displays blue brick lozenge patterns. The roof is hipped and has stacks located at the rear. An added rear wing is positioned on the left, featuring a lateral stack and a lean-to at the back of the main block. The front garden wall is topped with stone copings and has low iron railings with javelin points.
