Description
A pair of houses, now combined into a single dwelling, was built in the mid to late 18th century. A porch and extension to the east end, at No 2A, were added in 1872 for T.H.A. Poynder of Hartham Park. The original part of the building is constructed of rubble stone with stone tiled roofs, coped gables, and east end and ridge stacks. The houses are two storeys high. The left side has a single two-light upper window with a flush cyma-moulded surround, and on the ground floor, a 16-pane sash window with a hoodmould to the left. This overlooks a six-panel door, which is set in a gabled, rock-faced porch with a Tudor-style doorway. A plaque bearing the monogram "T.H.A.P." is positioned above the doorway. The right side features two similar two-light upper windows and, on the ground floor, a pair of 12-pane sash windows under a hoodmould, and a single flush cyma-moulded light with a dripstone. Adjoining the left end is the Corsham Dairy, constructed of rock-faced stone with ashlar corbelled eaves and a half-hipped east gable with a stone tiled roof. This section has openings in raised ashlar surrounds; the upper window is a two-light design with stone chamfered coping below a slightly projected plate-glass shop window, and a door is located to the left with coping above.
