Description

The eastern gates to Avebury Manor are gatepiers dating from the early 18th century, made of ashlar limestone. Originally located at Cumberwell House in South Wraxall, the gatepiers are characterized by their shortened rusticated design, featuring inner stops, a cornice, and ball finials adorned with acanthus leaves. The gates themselves are made of cast iron, sweeping down at the center, with rails topped by small spear points.
