Description

The barn at Upper Leigh Farm is a structure likely dating from the 17th century. It features a rubble stone plinth that stands approximately 1.75 meters high, with buttresses and slit vents. Above this, there is weatherboarding on a timber frame, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The barn is organized into five bays and has central opposing entries, supported by raised crucks. The south front includes a central doorway, which is missing its doors, and a fixed window to the left. The rear of the barn has double planked doors. Inside, the barn showcases raised crucks with braced collars and curved windbracing in the upper of the two tiers of through purlins.
