Description
The Manse and schoolroom at the United Reform Church consists of a schoolroom built in 1854 and a manse added in 1906. The building is constructed of dressed limestone, featuring a Welsh slate roof for the schoolroom and a tiled roof for the manse, which has gable end brick stacks. The schoolroom's gable end faces the road.
The manse is two stories high with two windows and has a four-panelled door located to the right of the center, flanked by two-light casements. On the first floor, there are two additional two-light casements. The roof displays exposed rafter ends and includes two flat-headed attic dormers.
The schoolroom features pointed double doors set in a shallow gabled porch, which is adorned with three stepped trefoiled lancets above. The roof has saddleback coping, and the left side of the building showcases a three-light chamfered mullioned casement. Inside the schoolroom, there is an open four-bay roof. The British School that operated here was closed in 1881. This building is included primarily for its group value.
