Description
The Old Rectory is a large detached house built in 1774 with later 19th-century additions. It features coursed limestone rubble and a roof covered in fish-scale tiles. The building has an L-shaped plan with two main sections and additional one and two-storey extensions to the north. The part facing the church is two storeys high with an attic and has three plus one windows, primarily consisting of 4-pane sash windows. There is a 2-light glazing bar casement on the first floor, and on the ground floor to the right, there is a 2-light leaded window that reaches pavement level. The right side, which returns to the north, has four small 2-light casements with leaded glass under wooden lintels, along with a large tripartite window featuring 4:12:4-pane sashes and a 3-light leaded casement. There are also two hipped 2-light dormers. The entrance door is located within the 'L' shape of the building. To the right, there is a later one-storey wing with a hipped return, and the house has three brick ridge stacks. The two-storey extensions to the northwest are not of special interest.
