Description

The Post Office is a cottage and attached shop built around 1840. It features Flemish bond brick with vitrified headers and a decorated tiled roof with brick stacks. The building is L-shaped, two stories high, and has a three-window front. To the right, there is a door in a gabled porch with a hood mould made of gauged brick. To the left, there is a 19th-century shop window, along with a two-light casement and a planked door, both under a hood mould, in the projecting wing. To the right of the door is a two-light cast-iron casement. All windows have gauged flat arches. The first floor has a three-brick plat band and three two-light cast-iron casements with hood moulds. The front features three steeply-pitched gables with brick cornices.

On the left side, there is a door in a gabled porch with a hood mould and two two-light cast-iron casements. The first floor has a three-brick plat band and two two-light cast-iron casements. The roof has two gables with brick cornices. The right side has two single wooden casements on the ground floor, a plat band on the first floor, and one 20th-century metal casement. At the rear, there is an integral outshut with a 20th-century dormer in the roof. This building is a well-designed estate property from the Longford Castle Estate.
