Description
Hughes Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof, featuring end stacks and two ridge stacks. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a long five-window façade that includes cyma-moulded flush mullion windows, predominantly 2-light, except for a 3-light window on the ground floor to the left. The central door is set within a porch built around 1830-1840, likely designed by J. Thomson. This porch is made of square rubble stone and has a depressed-arched entry, flanked by arched sidelights, and is adorned with keystones and a ball finial. The left bay of the front appears to be an addition. The rear of the farmhouse features various 2-light mullion windows.
