Description
Elm Cottage, located at 28 Kingsbury Street, was built in 1829, as indicated by the datestone on the left-hand stack. The building features a chequer brick exterior and a pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves. On the first floor, there are two sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor has a canted bay window also with sashes and glazing bars. The entrance has a modern door set in the original opening, accompanied by a fanlight and flanked by moulded pilasters. The cornice extends across the adjacent carriage entrance. In front of the cottage, there are elaborate mid-19th century iron railings. Elm Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos 17 to 34 Kingsbury Street.
