Description
Kingsbury Hill House is a 17th-century house with an 18th-century front, located on Kingsbury Street. The building features lead rainwater pipes at the corners, adorned with enriched cast lead rainwater heads, and the date 1772 is inscribed on the top pipe holders. It is two stories tall with an attic, showcasing a chequer brick front set on a moulded stone plinth. There is a stone string at the first-floor level and chamfered stone quoins above it. A moulded wood cornice encircles a central pediment over a slight projection, which also has quoins. The roof is half hipped with old tiles and includes two small gabled dormers with lead lights. The front has two coupled windows in segmental arched openings, with a single first-floor window in the central bay flanked by vitreous brick recessed panels. The entrance features a six-panel flush door within a wide moulded stone architrave, topped by a flat hood and flanked by similar vitreous panels. The rear of the house has brick walls with flint panels and includes mullioned and transomed four-light windows, along with various other window styles. There are some early 19th-century additions. Kingsbury Hill House is part of a group with Nos 17 to 34, which are consecutive.
