Description
Dorset House is an early 19th-century building located on the northeast side of The Halve. It stands three storeys tall, constructed of brick on a stone plinth, and features a small moulded stone cornice and a parapet with coping. The roof is slate. The building has glazing bar sash windows, with five windows on the second floor that have stone voussoir heads and stone cills. The first floor originally had five windows, but now includes a modern two-storey bay on the left and four windows. On the ground floor, there is a bay to the left, one window, a single-storey bay from the 19th century, one 19th-century door with an arched fanlight, and one window without glazing bars on the right. There are modern lean-to extensions on both the left and right sides. Dorset House, along with Nos 3 to 6 and the gate piers and street wall to No 3, forms a group, with No 6 being of local interest.
