Description
Bridge House is a building that dates from around 1830 to 1840, representing an enlargement or rebuilding of a former cottage. It is two storeys high and finished in stucco, topped with a low-pitched hipped slate roof that features flat eaves.
On the south front, the first floor has two windows; one is a marginal glazed two-light casement, while the other is a small modern casement that has been altered. The ground floor includes a small casement window and, to the right, a canted bay window with marginal glazed lights and a hipped slate roof with jettied eaves. The entrance is off-centre, featuring a four-panel door set in a jettied porch supported by bargeboards and leaf-scrolled iron supports.
To the west, there is a recessed wing that mirrors the main roof style and has two windows on each floor, all with marginal glazed casements and scalloped-edged blind cases. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension to the west.
On the east end of the house, opposite the gate, there is one marginal glazed casement on the first floor. The ground floor features a marginal glazed casement and a panelled double door, which is topped by a gabled porch with bargeboards similar to the main entrance. The overall appearance of the building is picturesque.
