Description
The Game Larder, located southeast of the demolished mansion, was built around 1870, possibly designed by W. Burn for J.W.G. Spicer. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a steep octagonal slate roof with bellcast eaves and a large louvred octagonal lantern. The building has an octagonal plan, with long 2-light mullion windows on each side and a projecting gabled porch that includes bargeboards and double doors set in a Tudor-arched surround. This structure was built in connection with the mansion that was constructed between 1864 and 1868 and later demolished.
