Description

The Old Dairy is a house from the 16th century that has been altered. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone tiled roof with coped gables and two ridge stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic. The south front includes one dormer and a dormer gable to the right, which has a 12-pane sash window that breaks the eaves, with a door located below. To the left, there are three first-floor 12-pane sashes above a plank door, a 16-pane sash, a fielded four-panel door in a chamfered surround, and a three-light recessed ovolo-moulded mullion window with a hoodmould. There is a picturesque 19th-century gabled log porch with a similar two-bay open verandah to the left. The east end wall features a rendered jettied timber-framed upper gable above a 19th-century door and shop window. The north front has a similar dormer gable at the left end and a 12-pane sash window breaking the eaves, with a slate-roofed lean-to below. There are also a 12-pane sash and a six-pane window in the surround for a mullion window on the first floor, along with two 16-pane windows on the ground floor. A wallface stack is located to the right. Attached to the southeast corner is a 19th-century wall and railings, which include four corniced piers with pyramid caps, spearhead iron railings, and a similar pedestrian gate.
