Description
Housecroft Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse built of Flemish bond brick with chamfered stone quoins, featuring hipped roofs made of Welsh slate and tiles, and brick stacks. The building consists of two units, with the lower section on the right possibly indicating the remains of a larger house. It is two stories high and has three windows. To the left, there is a six-panelled door topped with a pedimented wooden hood supported by stone brackets, and to the right, a 16-pane sash window. The right section has a 3-light segmental-headed casement. On the first floor of the left range, there is a plat band and another 16-pane sash window, while the right part features a 3-light beaded mullioned casement. Attached to the right is a single-storey extension with a 2-light casement. The right return of the main range also has a 3-light beaded mullioned casement. The left return, constructed in stretcher bond brick, includes a 20th-century two-light casement. The rear of the house has a 3-light casement, 20th-century French windows, and casements with an 8-pane sash and a single-light casement on the first floor. The interior retains original joinery and stairs with turned balusters.
