Description
Brooms Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1728, though it is said to have origins from the 15th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a Bridgwater tile roof with a west end stack. The building is two storeys high and has a double fronted design. Each floor includes one three-light and one two-light bead-moulded window with hoodmoulds. A notable feature is the fine gabled ashlar porch, which has a dripcourse and a chamfered doorcase; the apex of the porch carries a large square sundial on a square shaft, topped with a finial. There is a lean-to on the west end of the farmhouse. The rear wing includes a four-light bead-moulded window with a hoodmould on the east side at first floor level, and a ground floor window with bead-moulded mullions and transoms, alongside a four-light bead-moulded long mullion window with a hoodmould to the right. Additionally, there is a bead-moulded two-light window with a hoodmould on the first floor of the west side.
