Description

Maundrell House is a house dating from the late 18th century, with an early 19th-century rear extension. It is built of coursed, squared limestone and features a ridge stack and a stone slate roof. The house has a single-depth plan with a two-storey structure and an attic, presenting a symmetrical front that includes a recessed doorway with a plain surround, a four-panel door, and a three-pane overlight. The windows are two-light mullions with mid-19th-century casements, and there is a blank window above the entrance. Inside, the house has a central through-passage leading to the rear extension, with a left-hand rear lateral stair. Notable interior details include 18th-century chamfered axial beams and a collar truss roof with tenoned purlins.
