Description

The Steamer is a cottage dating from the early 19th century, constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof featuring end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with one hipped dormer. It is double fronted and includes ashlar flush quoins, brick dentilled eaves, and two 2-light flush chamfered mullion windows on each floor, along with a central door that has a raised moulded surround and a hood supported by brackets. The left ground floor 2-light window has been altered. At the rear, there is a lean-to with a catslide roof. This building was once a public house known as 'The Steamer'.
