Description

No. 14 Castle Street is a house dating from around 1705, though it was largely rebuilt in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of rendered rubble with limestone dressings, featuring a brick stack on the left-hand gable and a pantile roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a cellar, displaying a two-window range. The symmetrical front includes a round-arched, recessed doorway with a six-panel door, pilaster strips, a plinth, low cellar openings, and 8/8-pane sash windows on the ground and first floors, with 4/8-pane windows on the second floor. The interior has not been inspected. The house's date is recorded in its deeds.
