Description
The churchyard cross, located about 4 meters south of the porch of the Church of St Mary, St Katherine and All Saints, is possibly from the early 19th century and was restored in 1890 by C.E. Ponting. It is made of limestone and features a square stepped plinth leading to a square base. The base is intricately carved with quatrefoils that contain the Signs of the Evangelists. Above this, the moulded octagonal shaft has a frieze decorated with rosettes, and it is topped with a crocketed capping that includes a carved cross. An inscription on the plinth notes the restoration that took place in 1890-91 during the tenure of Rev. Cave-Browne-Cave.
