Description
No. 2 Silver Street is a semi-detached house dating from the 17th century, with an early 19th-century addition. The original structure features square-panelled timber-framing with painted brick nogging, while the later addition is constructed in Flemish bond brick. The house has a double Roman tiled roof, with a brick stack located to the left of the 19th-century section.
It is two storeys high and has two windows. The entrance is now located in a 20th-century porch attached to the right side. The ground and first floors of the 19th-century addition feature a 16-pane sash window with a flat brick arch, while the ground floor of the 17th-century section has a planked door and a fixed window, along with a 2-light casement window on the raised first floor. The 19th-century addition also has a dentilled brick eaves course. On the left side of the 17th-century part, there is a single-light casement window on the first floor. The interior and rear were not accessible during the survey conducted in February 1987.
