Description

The garden walls extending to the east of the north-east corner of Abbey House in Malmesbury are a Grade II listed structure. These walls are located on the site of the north curtain wall of the medieval town walls and were incorporated into the gardens of Abbey House in the 16th century. The walls have origins dating back to the 12th century and have been rebuilt and altered from the 16th century onwards. They consist of approximately 100 metres of coursed and squared limestone blocks and rubble, extending towards The Retreat on Holloway Hill.
