Description

This is a late 18th-century building on the southwest side of Market Place. It is constructed of colour-washed stucco over a projecting plinth. Horizontal strings run along the first and second floor levels, topped by a moulded cornice with brackets. The roof is covered with slate and features a gabled end. The building originally had four windows, but the second from the right is now blocked. The remaining windows are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, block sills, and keystones. The ground floor was once occupied by an early 19th-century shop front, which has since been modernised.

The building forms part of a group of listed buildings on the southwest and southeast sides of Market Place, including the Market Hall, Market Cross, and the Fountain. It also forms a group with numbers 1 to 18 on Northgate Street.
