Description
Nursteed Place is a house built around 1840, constructed of ashlar stone with low-pitched slate roofs. It has two storeys and features a formal three-window front with a plinth, band, cornice, and a balustraded parapet. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has plate glass sashes on either side of the central entrance, with architraves framing the openings. The entrance is highlighted by a Roman Doric porch supported by paired columns, complete with an entablature and balustrade, and pilaster responds.
On the west side, there are two upper 12-pane sashes and a large canted bay window on the ground floor made of ashlar. The east side features a two-storey square bay. There is a matching addition to the northwest from around 1910, which has a slate roof hipped to the north and a large canted bay on the west side with two 12-pane sashes above. The rear includes various additions, and the plain brick rear wall has an arched stair light. Inside, there is an open well stone staircase with iron balusters. The house was formerly known as The Elms.
