Description

The Baker monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 3 meters west of the west end of the Church of St Nicholas. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of ashlar stone. The monument features a moulded base and cornice, a fluted frieze, and two plaques on each side. It has reeded angle strips and a floral drop in the center. The inscription on the south side commemorates John Baker, who died around 1823.
