Description
25 and 27 St John's Street are a pair of early 19th-century houses located in Malmesbury. They feature a brick front and a limestone rubble rear, with brick ridge stacks on the right side and a stone slate roof. The houses have a double-depth plan and are two storeys tall with an attic, each having a one-window range. They are designed as a matching pair, with cambered heads above the left-hand doorways that have 20th-century glazed doors. The windows include horned 2/2-pane sashes and a blind central window on the first floor. There is a right-hand carriage entrance with a one-window section above, which has a 20th-century casement. The rear elevation includes a timber lintel above a central first-floor 6/6-pane sash window and a gable dormer. Inside No. 27, there are sections of re-used late 17th-century scratch-moulded panelling in the entrance hall.
