Description
18 and 20 St John's Street are a pair of attached cottages built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. They are constructed from limestone rubble, with No. 18 rendered and featuring brick dressings and gable stacks. The cottages have a double Roman tiled roof and a double-depth plan, each standing three storeys tall with a single window range. The design is symmetrical, with central doorways that have cambered heads and half-glazed doors. No. 20 has sash windows in exposed boxes, with 8/8 panes on the ground floor and 2/2 panes on the first and second floors beneath the eaves. No. 18 features mid-20th century windows. Inside No. 18, there is a central right-hand stair with a boarded door at the bottom.
